Mai Aburashed is a bilingual licensed clinical social worker who provides compassionate, trauma-informed care to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. With experience across community mental health, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and residential settings, Mai supports clients as they navigate emotional challenges, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. She strives to create a welcoming and respectful space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.
Mai has extensive experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, interpersonal difficulties, and behavioral concerns. Her approach incorporates evidence-informed practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, mindfulness, play-based interventions, strength-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation. She tailors treatment to each client’s individual needs, strengths, cultural background, and goals.
Having worked with diverse communities in the United States, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, she is fluent in both Arabic and English. Mai values collaboration and works closely with clients, caregivers, and other professionals when appropriate to promote meaningful and lasting progress.
Mai earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University. Her additional training includes Trauma-Focused CBT, trauma-focused care, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention. Her goal is to help clients develop greater insight, build practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward improved emotional well-being.
