Grief Support Group

Facilitated by Beverly Riddle, MS, LMHC, ADHD-CCSP

Research shows that people who participate in grief support groups often experience lower feelings of isolation and loneliness, greater emotional resilience, and improved coping skills compared to those who grieve alone.

Experiencing loss can feel overwhelming. The journey of grief is a deeply personal one, but no one must walk it alone. Hendricks Therapy is offering a therapist-led Grief Support Group.

The group will meet on the first and third Tuesdays, from September 23 to December 16, from 6-7 pm. at Blue Canopy, 6291 Cambridge Way, Plainfield, IN.

To register, please complete the form below or email group@hendrickstherapy.com.

This group will provide a safe environment for sharing experiences, learning healthy coping strategies, and navigating a path toward healing alongside others.

Pre-registration and payment are required. The cost is $40 per person/per meeting.

5 Facts About Grief and the Benefits of Support Groups

1. Grief is a universal experience — but how we process it is unique. Support groups help people realize there is no “right” or “wrong” way to grieve.

2. Isolation makes grief harder. Studies show that sharing your story in a group setting reduces loneliness and provides a sense of belonging.

3. Support groups improve coping. Participants often report learning healthy ways to manage overwhelming emotions, reduce stress, and rebuild routines.

4. Hearing others’ stories fosters healing. Being with people who have experienced similar losses helps normalize feelings and reduces guilt or shame.

5. Hope grows in community. Over time, many group members feel more resilient, less anxious, and better able to re-engage with life after loss.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a supportive group setting, we welcome you to join us.
